Torticollis Therapy in Mesa

Torticollis, also known as wry neck, is a condition in which the head is tilted to one side and the chin is turned to the opposite side. This can be caused by various factors, including injury, muscle or nerve problems, or even genetic predisposition. While torticollis can be a painful and uncomfortable condition, physical therapy can provide effective treatment and relief.

At Kempton Physical Therapy, we offer specialized torticollis therapy services designed to help our patients overcome this condition and improve their quality of life. Our team of licensed physical therapists has extensive experience in treating torticollis and related conditions, and we are dedicated to providing individualized care that meets the unique needs of each patient.

Benefits of Torticollis Therapy

There are numerous benefits to receiving torticollis therapy, including:

Pain relief: Torticollis can be a painful condition, causing discomfort and soreness in the neck and shoulders. Physical therapy can help to alleviate this pain and provide relief for the patient.

Improved range of motion: Torticollis can limit a patient’s range of motion, making it difficult to turn their head or move their neck. With specialized physical therapy techniques, patients can regain their range of motion and improve their mobility.

Strengthening of neck muscles: Physical therapy can help to strengthen the muscles in the neck and shoulders, improving posture and reducing the risk of future injury.

Improved posture: Torticollis can cause patients to compensate for the tilted head position, leading to poor posture and potentially exacerbating the condition. Physical therapy can help patients correct their posture and maintain a healthy alignment of the head, neck, and spine.

Reduced reliance on medication: While pain medication can provide temporary relief for torticollis, it does not address the underlying issues causing the condition. Physical therapy offers a non-invasive, drug-free alternative that can provide long-term relief.

Diane G.

I’ve had two (2) operations on my foot within 1 yr.  Had PT in 2019 at a place my Dr recommended. Then, with 2nd operation I chose Kempton Physical Therapy in Mesa.. I can say there is a world of difference between the two. Kempton PT is professional, caring and ALL the physical therapists are VERY knowledgeable. Jordan evaluated me and has worked with me every time I’ve come in. He has gotten me to the point where I’m walking without a cane. He has incorporated new exercises when the routine gets too easy.. Dan and Mindy are, also, very good. Paul, the owner, is always there to answer questions and is down to earth. They detail exercises for your specific needs. I would highly recommend Kempton PT!
