Jheanell Scarlett
Physical Therapy Technician
I grew up on the beautiful Caribbean island of Jamaica. I received a BSc. in Physical Therapy (Honours) from the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona. UWI is ranked in the top 1.5% of universities globally. I worked for six (6) years as a Registered Physical Therapist in Jamaica, and my main focus was outpatient physical therapy and sports medicine. I worked with one of the top-ranked high school track and field teams for three (3) years, and I’ve also treated Jamaican Olympians. I am currently in the process of transitioning to get my Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree in the hopes of continuing my passion.
I have a BSc. in Physical Therapy (Honours). During my one-year internship period, I worked in five (5) different hospitals in Jamaica, where I worked in the outpatient department, neurosurgery department, cardiopulmonary department, and pediatric department. I worked in outpatient clinics after my internship, and I was the Physical Therapist for one of the top high school track and field teams in Jamaica. I am a certified practitioner in Soft Tissue Mobilization Tools Hybrid, and I am certified in dry needling from the American Institute of Functional Integrated Dry Needling (AIFIDN).
The core values that drive me in life are:
- Without God I am nothing.
- Integrity is everything.

“Don’t wait for opportunity. Jump into it.”
I work as a Physical Therapy Technician, and I aid the patients with their exercises and treatment. Something patients have to deal with that I want to fix is learning how to be patient with their recovery.

I like working here because the staff members are friendly and easy to get along with. The work environment is laid-back yet productive, and it is very flexible.
When I am not working, I enjoy going to the gym and relaxing at home, watching a documentary, an action-comedy movie, or true crime.
